Surprise! Just what you need, right? More mobile games right before classes start? That’s exactly what EA was thinking when they whipped up this back to school sale. Really, though, how can you pass up Battlefield: Bad Company 2 for $0.99. FIFA 11 for a dollar? Monopoly HD for iPAd is only $3.99. What are you waiting for? Oh… could it be… that you already own them? Well, then nevermind. Still, take a look at their catalog of slashed prices and oggle at how much more you paid for these games like… two months ago.

Battlefield Heroes Getting Classic Map And Party Packs

To celebrate the game’s second anniversary and the surpassing of 8 million players worldwide, EA has something special in store for all Battlefield Heroes players.

Wake Island,one of the Battlefield franchise’s most popular maps is coming to Battlefield Heroes later this month. Players who also log in between now and July 8th by 4pm EST will receive two free Party Packs: one Royal and one National. Each Party Pack will include 77 Battlefunds, 25 Festive Flares, a permanent exclusive Party Hat, and a 7 day rental to play in a “Birthday Suit”.

EA is also announced that Battlefield Heroes is now fully localized in eight new languages, including: French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Turkish and Russian. Are you ready to party?

Be The Weapon In Crysis 2 (Trailer)

The original Crysis didn’t do much for me in terms of gameplay, sure it looked nice and all but the part where you played it felt a bit lacking and uninteresting.

By the look of the latest trailer for Crysis 2 entitled “Be The Weapon”, the game is still uber impressive visually, but also looks like a ton of fun to play. The ruined New York City environment looks like the perfect playground for you to use your nanosuit 2.0 powers, and shoot some alien bastards while doing so.

EA Showcase Previews Dead Space Ignition

EA’s studio showcase, broadcasting live right now from their Redwood Studios location, just showed off a bit of gameplay (more like comic book styled animatic) with a heavy puzzle solving component.

The puzzle shown in the preview (shown in the bottom right corner of the image above), pits you as a hacker against the system itself, with the objective being navigating your beam to the end of the puzzle/map before the system. Power ups are also available to give you a boost along the way.

Ignition will be used to fill the story void between Dead Space 1 and 2. No pricing information is available just yet, but gamers can look to grab this DLC sometime in the not so distant future.

PC Lag Got Your Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Down? Try This Fix

If your Battlefield: Bad Company 2 multiplayer sessions on the PC are suffering from a bad case of “the lag,” here’s a helpful tip from the game’s official twitter account:

“If you have lag problems with BFBC2 on PC, try disabling Remote Admin tools such as Wolfcom and ProCon.”

More footage of Crysis 2 has surfaced, and this time it’s full of explosions, broken images, and The Pinger. Yes, The Pinger from a previous trailer is featured more predominantly as it proceeds to destroy New York’s Central Station.

Ever feel like a truck load of a exclusive game trailers backed up into your face, broke your nose, hit your mouth with a stream of exhaust, and then drove away without so much as a goodbye? No? Well, then you obviously haven’t been clicking “play” on the last few trailers we’ve posted, because tonight’s GameTrailers video reveal marathon has got me feeling like E3 2010 is going to be one hell of a hands-on gaming experience.

The trailer below gives us a first look at some Dead Space 2 in-game footage, with a few Issac Clarke slow motion sequences that really bust necromorph face.

You know that feeling you get when you stare down into a warmly lit toaster in the morning as you wait for the ingenious contraption to fire slices of seared bread back up into your face the moment you look away? No? Just me? Alright then.

Well, the recently tweeted Dead Space 2 cover art (shown below in its entirety) makes me feel like I’ll be eating toast any minute now. Three pieces. All heated up by the glowing green visor lights on Issac Clarke’s face. So pretty. If only we weren’t out of Necromorph flavored jam.I’m going to go make some toast now, but the rest of you make sure to tune into GameTrailers TV next Friday for your exclusive first look at Dead Space 2 gameplay.

Dead Space 2 Gameplay Footage Debuts During GameTrailers TV Pre-E3 Special

Geoff Keighley and the crew at GameTrailers TV are cranking out exclusive announcements about as fast as Kate Gosselin pushes out babies. In addition to a first look at Killzone 3 gameplay footage (not to be confused with the lovely cinematic piece Sony unleashed on us a few hours ago), Keighley tweeted the following Dead Space 2 related announcement earlier today:

“Another big game in our pre-e3 special next Fri – First real hd gameplay footage from Dead Space 2.”

Killzone, Dead Space, I’m seeing a pretty bad ass theme developing here. In fact, if one more morbid/murder related title gets announced, they could kill two birds with one stone and call it the E3 Halloween Special.

EA Releases New Dead Space 2 Screens

The boys and girls at EA have released a handful of Dead Space 2 in-game screens today. Isaac Clarke’s sequel boasts new weaponry as well as the ever popular addition of a multi-player mode. Fans of the original will also be happy to know that the second iteration looks every bit as creepy as it’s spaced out survival-horror predecessor.

I played the first game back at E3 a few years ago but didn’t pick it up when it hit stores. It’s a shame too because it actually looked good and played pretty well. Now might be a good time to head on over to my local GameStop and give it a go. Unlimited Trial: Play Warhammer Online For Free Until The Dwarfs Come Home

EA announced today that free trial access to their MMO Warhammer Online will be available to gamers on an unlimited basis. Jeff Hickman, the game’s executive producer, states:

“With the introduction of the endless free trial and streaming client, we are making it easier than ever for a new player to join the WAR,”

“… we are giving players an unlimited amount of time to explore the early parts of the game at their own pace. We are confident that players new and old will find all the enhancements we’ve made to WAR over the past year worthy of their time and commitment.”

Of course, the trial does not grant access to the game’s top-tier content, but considering all the enhancements they claim to have made, it will probably allow for enough quests and grinding to keep you occupied and unbathed long enough to ensure total and absolute seclusion from society.

Madden NFL 10 Gets August Release Date

Electronic Arts has announced the release date for this year’s entry in the Madden franchise, Madden NFL 10. The game will release on August 14, 2009, and of course football fans will gather that day to play each other online and curse each other out like there’s no tomorrow.

Electronic Arts has said the game will feature “online innovation that will connect Madden fans together like never before” and “an immersive broadcast presentation that captures the suspense and emotion of the NFL.”

The cover athlete will be revealed in a presentation on Friday, April 24th.

Spore Sells 1 Million, Uploads Reach 25 Million

A press release received today from EA announces that Spore has sold 1 million copies and the amount of creatures uploaded has hit 25 million. Those are pretty impressive numbers considering the game shipped just three weeks ago on September 7th.

I have yet to play the game and would be interested in hearing the thoughts of our readers. If you have played the full version of the game, please let me know what you think of it in the comment section below.

Dead Space Coming Out Earlier Than Expected

EA has announced today that their upcoming sci-fi/survival horror game Dead Space is launching a week earlier than planned. The 360 and PS3 versions were originally set for an October 31st launch, but will instead be dropping on the 21st in North America and on the 24th in Europe. The PC version will still be coming out on Halloween.

EA says they just finished earlier than expected, which is a great sign that the game is ready to scare the shit out of us!

Harmonix Wants to Bury the Hatchet Over Broken Axes – Free EA Game For Rock Band Troubled Customers

Harmonix doesn’t want you to hate them because their Rock Band controllers have a bad habit of breaking. In fact, they’re practically bribing their customers for forgiveness by offering them a free game.

The company is currently experiencing some difficulties with their Rock Band guitar controllers. Specifically, they’re breaking. And replacement guitars are slow to reach their intended destinations. So many gamers wait patiently (what else can they do?) for their new guitars that Harmonix saw fit to offer an apology for the delays.

In an email sent to those who have requested replacement guitars, Harmonix has apologized for the delay and offered a free EA game to customers.

Part of their email reads:

By the time you receive this, your replacement guitar should be on its way to you. However, the Rock Band team is committed to providing a world-class customer experience and we do not believe we have met this commitment in connection with your request. As a token of our appreciation for your patience and understanding, we will be offering you a FREE EA game. Details will follow shortly.

It’s a small consolation to gamers who have shelled out big bucks for busted gear, but hey, who doesn’t like free?

Crysis Release Date Announced – PC Exclusive To Hit Stores November 16th

Electronic Arts and Crytek announced today that the much anticipated title Crysis will be hitting retail stores in North America and Europe on November 16, 2007 exclusively for the PC.

Crytek’s CEO and President, Cevat Yerli, was quoted saying that he believes the game will be “worth the wait”. Well, we sure hope so. Another thing worth noting here is that the game has yet to be rated by the ESRB or the PEGI. Stay tuned.
