EA Sports Virtual Playbook Adds Video Game Players to ESPN NFL Live and Countdown

Get your popcorn ready. EA Sports, in partnership with ESPN, has created a new technology called Virtual Playbook that merges real life ESPN analysts with virtual EA video game characters.
According to EA, in-studio cameras will be synchronized with in-game cameras, allowing both real and virtual people the ability to “move realistically around the studio set to demonstrate plays and scenarios.”
As a huge sports fan myself, I am interested in seeing how all of this comes together. On paper it definitely sounds like it has the potential to be a major addition to the sports broadcasting venue.

Are you regretting your purchase of Madden 2005? 2006? Or maybe even 2007? Well, thanks to two sue happy gamers, you may be able to seek retribution from EA.
A class-action lawsuit has been filed in the US District Court of Northern California against EA, the publisher of the Madden titles, in which the company’s actions are being touted as “blatantly anticompetitive”. Read more…
