Aliens: Colonial Marines is the bold upcoming shooter by Gearbox and Sega that declared itself as a true sequel to James Cameron‘s classic Aliens.

Does it have what it takes to do the film justice? I have to admit, the trailer does a good job in capturing the essence of the classic film. Watch the gameplay video below and comment.

Aliens: Colonial Marines is scheduled to release sometime this fall on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

PS Vita Mortal Kombat is Vicious – First Brutal Gameplay Footage

The PlayStation Blog put up a video which features the brutal gameplay of Mortal Kombat on the PS Vita. Never before has Kombat on a portable screen looked so good. MK on the Vita involves not just the standard use of buttons, but also includes the use of the touchscreen and other specific features.

The PS Vita version adds an ambitious array of extra content, starting with every piece of DLC ever released on PS3. That means you’ll be able to play as Freddy Krueger, Kenshi, Rain, and Skarlet from day one, and select MK1 and MK2 retro-styled costumes to drape over your male and female ninja characters. The Vita version sweetens the pot with 15 more exclusive costumes, including MK3-styled garb for the ninjas.

New Motorstorm RC Trailer Details Competitive Online Play

Sony has released a new Motorstorm RC trailer in which Director Paul Rustchynky details the game’s online competitive capabilities.

Motorstorm RC launches with the PS Vita in Europe on February 22, the North American release date has not been made public. A PS3 version is also in the works.

Capcom today released a new gameplay trailer for Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City which gives a closer look at members of both playable teams: Special Ops and Umbrella Security Service. The video goes through individual members of each team and details their purpose and specific skill sets.

The trailer is entertaining with fast and sometimes brutal action. Watch it to the end to catch a glimpse of an old friend.

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is scheduled to release March 20th on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

New Resident Evil 6 Dev Diary Shows Breathtaking Gameplay

Capcom has released a developer video from the Fright Club event that has members from the dev team talk about Resident Evil 6 followed by awesome gameplay footage.

One thing is for sure, Capcom isn’t pulling any punches. Watch the video below.

Resident Evil 6 is scheduled to release November 20th on PS3, PC and 360.

The Witcher 2 Arrives on Xbox This April With 3 Hours of New Content

The Witcher 2 was one of the best PC games of last year. Even though it has had trouble with pirates, nothing could stop CD Projekt from working on an Xbox 360 version of the game. It was originally scheduled for last November, but as you can tell, that didn’t work out.

Today, Warner Bros. announced the release date for the game. The Witcher 2: Assassins Of Kings–Enhanced Edition will hit the 360 April 17 in North America. With the Enhanced subtitle, you can expect 3+ hours of new content, gameplay, and story elements. Check out the box art below.

Ah the ninja, historically known for stealth and deception, but you’d never know it by checking out the latest Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus trailer released by Tecmo Koei. The trailer would lead you to believe that the typical Ninja often fought multiple foes (both human and monster) in wide open spaces.

Kid Icarus: Uprising – Exciting New Story and Gameplay Details

Via Press Release, Nintendo has released new details about the storyline and single-player gameplay for their upcoming adventure Kid Icarus Uprising.

The story starts with the return of the dark goddess Medusa and her Underworld Army.

“With the help of Palutena, goddess of light and guardian of the human race, the heroic angel Pit must combat the forces of darkness as he battles Medusa and her minions by air and by land.”

Here are a number of good details also gleaned from the press release:

Fiend’s Cauldron: The Fiend’s Cauldron is an incredible new system that allows players to customize their play experience by adjusting the intensity level. Intensity ranges from 0.0 – 9.0 for each individual Chapter. As the intensity increases, players will be able to earn more Hearts and more powerful weapon drops from defeated enemies. Hearts also can be used to purchase new weapons. The standard intensity setting is 2.0, but players can precisely adjust it by increments of 0.1. In order to increase the intensity, players must bet by placing an increasing number of Hearts into the Fiend’s Cauldron. If the player is defeated during the Chapter, some Hearts will be lost and the intensity will be lowered.

Weapons: A wide variety of collectible weapons offers an extraordinary amount of replay value. With nine different categories of weapons, ranging from Bows to Claws, players can learn the unique characteristics of each weapon and determine which is best suited for each battle and their style of play.

Vehicles: During certain parts of his adventure, Pit will have access to special vehicles such as the Exo Tank. Pit can use the tank’s powerful drift ability to boost over jumps or defeat enemies with the tank’s ramming horn.

Stand: Kid Icarus: Uprising uses a control scheme designed to fit the game’s unique blend of flight, shooting and melee combat, and offers tremendous precision and depth for dedicated players. The left hand uses the Circle Pad while the right hand uses the stylus. Every copy of the game will come with a free stand that holds the Nintendo 3DS at an angle above any flat surface, providing players with a new kind of gaming experience.

Circle Pad Pro: Kid Icarus: Uprising is compatible with the Circle Pad Pro accessory, offering an alternate control scheme for left-handed players. With the Circle Pad Pro, players hold the stylus in their left hand and use the Circle Pad with their right hand.

Pre-orders from selected retailers will receive a bonus download code for the 3D Classics: Kid Icarus.

Shank 2 Releases February 7th – Watch Uncut Gameplay Video

EA has announced that it will release Shank 2 on PSN and XBLA on February 7th. Shank 2 is an old style 2D side scroller with lots of attitude and action. It improves upon the original Shank by adding a new survival mode that will include co-op play.

Shank 2 will cost gamers 800 MSP or $9.99 when in becomes available for PSN and XBL on February 7th.

Shinobido 2 Trailer Shows Off Killer Ninja Techniques and Gameplay Features

Namco-Bandai released a new trailer for Shinobido 2: Revenge of Zen that shows off killer ninja techniques and gameplay features.

And no, it is not a sequel to SEGA’s Shinobi series but it does have much in common with the Tenchu series with which it shares many stealth gameplay elements and developer Acquire.

Shinobido 2 is a PS Vita release title and will be available February 22. Check out the trailer below.

A few days ago we reported that there was an, “Only in Battlefield 3” contest being held by EA and DICE.

The grand prize is a trip to Sweden to hang with DICE and probably eat Swedish Meatballs while you frag noobs on unreleased maps.

Skyrim Online Mod Lets You See and Chat With Other Players In Real Time

Wow. That was fast.

A new mod has been released on the Skyrim Nexus which allows you to see other players (so far only as generic naked people with no animations) and chat with them.

Play with your friends and adventure together! (not really) But you can chat with people all over the globe and see where they’re hanging out in Skyrim.

I get the feeling there will be a lot of people at your house in Whiterun…

What’s next for the mod?

- Proper servers with saved usernames and passwords

- Animations

- Fully synced characters (clothes!)
