Banpresto has created a Sega Mega Drive and Sega Saturn zippo lighter case available by pre-order between now and November 6th via Net-You. Each lighter will run you approximately $115 US (¥10,500). That might seem like a steep price to pay for a video game themed lighter, but as you can see in the image above, Sonic the Hedgehog looks cool using it and that means you will too!

Simple: Dolling yourself up with video game paraphernalia is the coolest. It’s the only way to make you feel totally nerdy and sexy at the same time.

Now, back to the bracelet. The item in question is a sleek, hand made resin bracelet covered in a sick Tetris-block design and is roughly 6.2 cm wide measured from the inside of the piece.

There’s not much else to say about this item besides its steep price tag of $70. But hell, right now, it’s one of a kind. So get on it. I’ll help you: it’s right here.

Thank me later.

Read on for the official geeked-out description that only a true Star Wars nerd could appreciate.

If there’s something every Sith Lord knows how to do it’s make a balanced breakfast. While the Jedi have to live off of Jawa juice and fried nerfsteak, the Dark Lord of the Sith prefers to have a reminder of his fiery Mustafar defeat at his breakfast table. Every morning he burns that moment into a slice of bread with the Darth Vader Toaster. This black, ominous kitchen appliance easily leaves the mark of Vader’s helmet in every yummy piece of toast. Slather some Bantha butter on top, or make two pieces for an extra-Sithy BLT. Force power not required to operate toaster.

Available in January ‘09, you can preorder this sum-bitch for fiddy-five dollars at StarWarsShop.com.

When Rayman: Raving Rabbids was first released on a Wii a few years back, gamers still loved silly mini-games that required plenty of waggle. Now gamers are feeling a little bitter towards these types of games, but going back now I still have fun trying to find the out-of-tune Rabbid in the choir and giving him a good smack upside the head.

With Rayman’s Raving Rabbids TV Party releasing November 14th, Ubisoft has officially announced the added bonus of some sweet Rabbids toys!

As you can see, the package includes five Rabbids: a smiling one, a screaming one (my favorite), a Sam Fischer version, and an Altair version. The last Rabbid is left with a blank face so you can draw anything you want on it. No word on the pricing, but it seems as if these bunny boxes will be at most major game retailers alongside the game’s release.

I think I want to get these, just so I can throw the “screaming” one at people while mimicking the Rabbid scream. Some might call this cheating; I call it a “winning strategy.”

I’m checking out Famitsu this morning and what do I see but an interesting slightly non gaming news article about EXILE and Takaratomi toy company of Japan releasing a collaboration Optimus Prime as they call it.

EXILE X Transformers speakers for iPod are just what they claim to be. A set of speakers built into Optimus Prime’s trailer that work as a small dock for your iPod. As you can see by the photo Optimus has taken on a new color scheme for this promotion, but he does transform as always.

It’s on sale now for the low low price of 20,000 yen, or around 200 US dollars (depending on how the exchange rate is going that day). For the price it looks slightly expensive you get a transforming Optimus, and two two channel speakers with their own power button and volume.

They don’t say what brand the speakers are just that they are in the convey container so don’t expect Bose, I may get one myself. Then again, I’m one of those people that buys things like this and then never opens them. I tell myself I’m saving it for its value later in years, which really ends up usually being a waste for me.

Hoverit Ltd, a UK-based design company, recently announced their new levitating lounge chair. Yeah, I know it’s a tongue twister, but say it slowly. Levitating. Lounge chair. Sexy.

However dear reader, before you question the validity of the (roughly) $9,620 price tag, consider this:

The chair floats.

How many times have you, the hardcore gamer that you are, gotten a back pain from sitting in a grounded (as in, you know… on the ground) chair? Couch to floor is so last week.

So how does this beast of a chair do what it does? Straight from the mouth of Hoverit themselves:

“Defying gravity with the use of repelling magnetic forces in both the bed and base, this contemporary lounger is comfortable, practical and stylish.”

Well, I wouldn’t really call it “practical,” but whatever.

One question though: What if someone like me was using a laptop while sitting in the chair?

Hard drive failure due to chair failure, that’s for sure. Can’t trust those crazy magnets.

What the hell is a video game blog doing writing about alarm clocks?

Well, this isn’t just any alarm clock; this one is made by Banpresto … you know, the video game developer. They make all of Dan Landis’ favorite games like Super Robot Wars W and Suzumiya Haruhi no Tomadoi. Now have I got your attention?

Good, but if for some reason I haven’t woken you up, I’m sure this alarm clock will. Banpresto’s new Railroad Alarm Clock is shaped like a Japanese railroad sign and makes all the annoying train sounds that one would expect. The alarm itself houses an extra large and loud speaker (40mm), with the ability to produce the extreme amount of train noise needed to wake up someone from a deep sleep.

For the time being, this item will only be available in Japan starting January 2009. I wonder why it’s Japan-only? Probably because it’s freakin’ awesome.

If you were anything like me, your favorite movie growing up was (is?) the original Star Wars Trilogy. In fact, even if you aren’t anything like me at all you probably love the original Star Wars movies. As a result, you get a lot of crazy fan art like homemade storm trooper outfits and, you know, Lego Han Solo in carbonite.

One Star Wars fan decided to go green and make his own TIE Fighter out of Starbucks garbage. Using stirrers for the skeleton, ribbed cardboard for the two outside panels and a cut-up coffee lid for the front of the cockpit, Star Wars fan Dan Winters has made a pretty fancy looking replica. “Pew pew!” sound effects not included.

As a result of Dan’s ingeniuty, Wired.com is also starting a contest to see who can make the coolest stuff using only Starbucks materials. Don’t let this dude show you up; save the environment and your money by making your own toys. Grab some cardboard cups and get cracking.

Do you hate missing a call because your phone is a few feet away and you just don’t feel like getting up to answer it? This man feels your pain.

Silicon Valley software engineer and aspiring inventor, Kazu Terasaki, is attempting to give his iPhone a pair of legs to go with it’s massive collection of apps. The contraption, in it’s current state, is more of a misguided crawl than a walk, but it has promise.

Soon, we’ll all be able to eat Cheesy Poofs and play World of Warcraft without so much as shifting a butt cheek, while our personal robots go to work and cater to our every need. In the mean time, let’s root for Kazu, so we never have to go AFK to answer our iPhone ever again.

Hit the jump to see the walking iPhone robot feet in action.

Wake up to the sounds of an intergalactic alien invasion with this slick-looking Space Invaders alarm clock. Direct from Taito, the makers of the classic arcade game, this retro device can be yours for 79 bucks. If you are asking yourself — “Self, why should I want this Space Invaders alarm clock?” — I will help you answer that question by illustrating a real world application below.

You stumble into your apartment at 2:00am accompanied by a lovely young lady you recently met. Your every intention is to discuss world politics and the high price of gas when she glances over at your nightstand and spots a Space Invaders alarm clock. She is overrun with retro emotion and decides to take you right then and there. Who needs Axe body spray when you have a room adorned with geeked-out gaming gadgets?!?

While results may vary, this certainly can happen to you.

Combining the gamer need to stay awake with the supposed gamer inability to be a huge fucking dork, Mana Energy Potion is just the kind of shot you need to solidify yourself as an elite member of the takes-it-too-fars.

This is a level of geek that I am afraid to say is just a tad over the line but, at the same time, is super cool in the nerdiest of ways.

I don’t want to ruin the description with my amateur wordsmith skills, so I’ll let the official “About” page speak for itself:

WTF is a Mana Energy Potion?
Mana Energy Potion is the premium energy shot made by gamers for gamers. It’s for long nights of gaming, partying, and the longer mornings that follow. It has lots of vitamins, no sugar, and no aftercrash.

What is it going to do to me?
It will bump up your mana to +160 (real world humans have about 100 mana, by the way). It’s 5-8 hours of smooth, jitter-free energy. When it comes to caffeine content, this potent shot is equivalent to about two 8-ounce Red Bulls® or four cups of crappy office coffee.

How big is a Mana Energy Potion?
It is an energy shot, not an energy drink. The bottle is a 50mL serving which is around the same size as those little bottles of booze served on airplanes. At only 20 calories, it won’t weigh you down while you are casting spells. It will also keep you away from the can as opposed to guzzling the usual barrel of yellow syrup. Don’t let the size fool you- even drinking half a bottle at time is quite effective.

What’s the best way to ingest this stuff?
Straight from the bottle. If you want the energy to ramp up more slowly but still last as long, have a bottle after a meal. Don’t be afraid to only take half a bottle, this is a high-level potion, so you should be careful with it. You can also dilute it (See “What does it taste like?”) Another tip: try it chilled.

What is the Cooldown on a Mana Energy Potion?
While everybody has a different reaction to caffeine and vitamins, your Cooldown will be far more than two minutes. In fact, we highly recommend that you do not drink more than one of these every 24 hours (or 1,440 minutes).

What does it taste like?
It’s a citrusy formula with a bit of a sour bite. Although taste is pretty subjective, our circle of geeks (us included) LOVES the flavor. It has a sour bite that makes you feel like you definately got a dose of energy. If “intense” isn’t your bag, try diluting it with club soda or your favorite juice. We’ve even poured it into our green tea. Yummy.

What exactly is in this?
All sorts of energy-inducing ingredients to keep you questing into the wee hours of the night. Click here to see our Supplement Facts label.

I want it now! How long will the delivery take?
We ship via DHL who then hands it off to your local postal service. The average delivery time is 2-3 days depending on how far you are from CA, but it can take up to a week.

Why does Mana work so much better than the other stuff?
Because we’re awesome.

Are you still shipping glass bottles?
Nope. The glass bottles did what glass does best: break. They broke in transit, broke in stores and broke during the manufacturing process. When they didn’t break, they would often freeze in transit and the seal would leak creating a blue-green syrup that would seep into the box it shipped in. After replacing many, many bottles of Mana, we had a custom mold designed and built to blow food grade, high density PET bottles. The results? Awesome. They look even better, are a fraction of the weight, and won’t break or leak (unless you try very, very hard).

Do you have tracking information for my package?
DHL will send you an email with your tracking information around the time that your package ships. We don’t actually send out that information. Did you check your processed meat folder for the tracking email? If you think you should have gotten something by now, send us an email.

Do you ship to APO /FPO addresses?
Thinkgeek does! DHL told us that they do not ship to APO/FPO addresses, but Thinkgeek will because they’re awesome (and they must use a different shipping system). They sell six-packs of Mana Energy Potion. Read these instructions on addressing and order some Mana Energy Potion for your aircraft carrier. The Badger’s Den can also ship to APO/FPO addresses, AND they sell in different quantities.

OMG I feel like I have a sunburn and my face is red!
There are a couple possibilities here: 1) You were out in the sun too long, and you have a sunburn and 2) you were possibly deficiant in niacin and there was enough in Mana Energy Potion to give you a niacin flush. A niacin flush will cause your skin to turn red. It may get itchy, feel like a sunburn, and be generally unpleasant. In general, it should go away within 15-20 minutes, in some cases it can last a bit longer. Many times, the second time you take a Mana Energy Potion, you will not experience this reaction. Read more about it here.

Is there anything else I should know?
Yes. Most of the statements on the website have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration, in fact, all of the statements on this website have not been evaluated by the FDA . That doesn’t mean they’re complete nonsense though. Mana Energy Potion is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

Who does your incredible character design?

Sara Forlenza, and she’s awesome. You can see more of her art at www.saraforlenza.com.

You must be a level 16 or higher to use this potion, by that we mean not recommended for mortals under 16.

Use caffeine responsibly. Discard 3 days after opening, no need to refrigerate. Contains enzymes. Phenylketonurics: Contains phenylalanine.

First there was the Lancer Assault Rifle replica. Now, for your consideration, the brain trust at Globe skate footwear bring you the Gears of War Special Edition Co-op shoe. Chainsaw bayonet not included.

The website declares that:

“Globe has teamed up with EPIC and their Gears of War video game, one of the best selling combat video games of all-time, to bring you a Special Edition Co-op shoe based on Globe’s Fusion Model. This one comes with a big pop of the Gears of War icon inside and out.”

What exactly is a “shoe of war” made of? It features spandex, breathable mesh, and kinetic EVA cushioning for flinging oneself behind strategic cover whilst taking fire.

The shoe is planned to be priced $70 – $80 and comes in sizes men’s sizes 5 through 14. Must have for the fashionable shod gamer – or 15-year-olds who have too bilked too much money from their parents.

No work yet on whether or not Gears commando Marcus Fenix has endorsed the shoe, but early word from his publicist is that “the triple stitching aids in the crushing of Locust trachea quite nicely.”

Picture this (unless you’re female, in which case, just go with it): You’re in a club, socializing with all the fine ladies. You’re staking out which of the beautiful women you want to approach. You decide to pull a Nathan Drake and half-tuck your shirt to accentuate your washboard abs. The club lights hit your belt buckle with a miraculous glint that only a total sex magnet could produce. Instantly, all eyes are on you.

You are a god. You’ve mesmerized the ladies with your stellar fashion sense; your machismo is through the roof, because there is nothing that says, “Hey baby, I’m a fiend,” like a video game inspired belt buckle.

O.K., I kid. This type of situation would never happen. I would know, I have a NES controller belt buckle, and that situation has never happened to me.

Then again, these homemade, handcrafted retro belt buckles are infinitely cooler then my current one. The buckles are made by Natalie Hutcheson (her hacker alias is HutchMe) and can be purchased on her Etsy online shop for a measly $18 plus shipping.

I think I might buy one. My girlfriend is going to be jealous, because the ladies are going to be flocking toward my new buckle, if you know what I mean. And you do.

I know it’s not the intention of Geeked-Out, but shut up about it already. Video explains all.

The unit itself houses numerous features including the original SNES buttons and D-pad built into the case, trigger positioned shoulder buttons, headphone jack and AV out port, internal lithium polymer batteries, and, as “Life of Brian” puts it, a “badass handmade cartridge slot.”

However, the coolest feature I’ve found out about this thing is that it’s a portable effing Super Nintendo.

The benheck forums also have a wonderful thread showing a picture gallery of the process “Life of Brian” went through while building the device.

I’m glad there are people out there making these kinds of things, but man, what I would have given to have one of these when I was a kid.

There are case mods, and then there are freaking epic case mods. This bad boy not only screams Gears of War, it looks like it belongs in the damn game itself. Dark and gritty with a fiery glow inside — if I didn’t know any better, I’d think it had a few Locust inside ready to surface at any moment.

While the mod looks like it was forged on the blood stained soil of Sera itself, the highly detailed work is that of 24 year old Dallas Texas based artist, Frank Gonzales (DFW Monkie). Kudos to Frank. This is hands down the best Gears case mod I’ve ever seen.
