Are These The First Screenshots of GTA V? No, They’re Not.

Yesterday, you may have seen some apparently, “leaked” images of Grand Theft Auto V.

Well, upon closer inspection, many people noticed these were obviously faked and could be easily made with a mod.

Despite the fact that the heavily edited map images were ripped right from San Andreas and that they put the dollar sign after the 235$ and that the guy in the picture is clearing standing RIGHT HERE and has just been reskinned… yeah. They’re fake.

Just to be sure I emailed my buddy at Rockstar and he was all like “lolwut?”

Oh internet…

This is The GTA V Trailer Recreated in GTA: San Andreas

As you’ve most likely heard by now, Grand Theft Auto 5 is taking us back to Los Santos, the fictional Los Angeles that sits at the center of the San Andreas region of the Grand Theft Auto universe.

We’ll be visiting a lot of the same places that our old pal CJ wreaked havoc upon in GTA: SA, and to prove it, someone was nice enough to recreate the new trailer featuring the old tech.

Are you excited to go back to San Andreas?

Just last week, Rockstar Games came out of left field and finally made GTA V official. We all knew it was coming, but having a proper reveal was oh-so satisfying.

Now the time has finally come and Rockstar has revealed the first official trailer for the game.

So, without further ado, behold the first official trailer for Grand Theft Auto V!!

Yep, we’re going back to San Andreas.

RipTen Asks: If You Could Be Any GTA Character, Who Would You Be?

It’s time for RipTen Asks, a gathering for the video game enthusiasts who have opinions about things. Video game-related things!

This week, we take our question to the wild streets of the Grand Theft Auto franchise. From Vinewood to Liberty City and everywhere in between, the GTA series has often had memorable characters that help keep the story and world feeling both interesting and entertaining. But if you had to pick just one character to be, who would you choose?

Be it the Hawaiian-shirt sporting Vice City Kingpin ‘Tommy Vercetti’, the constantly stoned South Central San Andreas socialite ‘Ryder’ or even the travelling child molester ‘James Pedeaston’, the GTA universe has quite the colorful cast. Let us know just which character you see yourself as by selecting an option in the poll, or let us know if we’ve missed out your preferred choice!!

Five O’Clock Fan Art: GTA Legends

We’ve highlighted Patrick Brown’s work a few times here on RipTen and with good reason – the man is some sort of art wizard. And with Grand Theft Auto V officially revealed, there is no more appropriate picture to post today than his phenomenal GTA Legends.

Five O’Clock Fan Art is perfect for wrapping up the work day. You don’t want to think anymore, you just want to look at awesome things. And there’s nothing more awesome than a well crafted piece of videogame fan art. If you don’t agree, what the hell are you doing at a gaming blog?

Patrick Brown is my hero. And that’s more sincere than even I originally thought.

Grand Theft Auto V is Official – Trailer Coming Next Week

I think I speak for everyone when I say, holy shit.

Grand Theft Auto V has been officially revealed by Rockstar Games.

Their website also says that a trailer is coming on 11.2.11, that’s next week!

I can’t wait that long.

In a related story, Rockstar just fucked up everyone’s day. Sorry Battlefield 3.

EA’s Top Secret GTA V Screenshot & Tech Demo Discovered

Many of us have been holding our breath since EA made its initial offer to buy Take-Two, and the company’s comment, stating that they would wait until the release of Grand Theft Auto IV before discussing the offer any further, did very little to ease that sick feeling in our stomachs.

EA, who has been known to tone down the violent content of their games and splurge on in game advertising (as shown above), is set to destroy our beloved Grand Theft Auto franchise. The top secret tech demo showcasing EA’s take on the series is not for the faint of heart.

How could Take-Two ever let something like this happen? The Grand Theft Auto franchise deserves to go down in history as one of the greatest games ever made — remembered for its controversy, not its excessive in game advertising. The horror!

Ok, you got me, this is an obvious satire piece, however it does offer a potential eerie glimpse into the future. Hopefully this crosses the desk of a few key individuals at Take-Two and makes them think twice before allowing EA to place their thumb print on such a beloved franchise.
