The Watercooler - 15 November 2008
by Dan Landis on November 15, 2008

Warning: The Watercooler is the best thing you will see on the Internet today, mainly because it is the best thing I saw on the Internet yesterday. Be advised that these Watercooler stories are not necessarily videogame related (they usually won’t be), and are often silly, controversial, and/or not safe for work (NSFW). If this type of content frequently offends you, please be aware that I just warned you — if you still click through and get offended, it will be your own stupid fault. Otherwise, please continue…
Today’s Watercooler features another heelarious political video. After watching yesterday’s Watercooler video, Dylan Duarte was reminded of some other presidential-themed video that needed to be featured on The Watercooler. I figured now is just as good of a time as any, especially because I would likely forget about it if I didn’t do it today.
Alright, so what’s it about then? Well, Obama decides to Rickroll McCain during a speech by taking over his backdrop and singing “Never Gonna Give You Up”… and surprisingly it doesn’t feature a dog. Yup. Read more…
The Watercooler - 26 October 2008
by Dan Landis on October 26, 2008

Do you know what time it is? It’s time for The Watercooler again. This happens every day at the same time, so you shouldn’t really be surprised. This is the best thing you will see on the Internet today, mainly because it is the best thing I saw on the Internet yesterday. Eventually, I will run out of different ways to say the same thing every day, but clearly that day is not today. Wait a minute… that’s exactly what I said yesterday!
Today’s Watercooler is surprisingly political again, this time dealing with John McCain and his brother. This may seem like it’s showing my political affiliation since yesterday’s Watercooler was about Sarah Palin, but I’m one of those people who refuse to take part in a broken system irresponsible dicks that don’t vote.
This video is something that I had overheard people talking about today, but I thought it was a joke. I looked it up and, unfortunately for some rich old whiteys, it is not a joke. John McCain’s brother was recorded on a 911 tape complaining about traffic. That’s right, he called 911 to complain about traffic. The operator seemed surprised and asked if he was really calling 911 to complain about traffic, to which Joe responded “Fuck you”. Classy.

Pong > Barack Obama
by Justin Arnold on August 7, 2008

Someone is going to need an Xbox 360 on Air Force One.
In a particularly hard-hitting interview with presidential candidate Barack Obama, Entertainment Weekly asked the presumptive democratic nominee what was the last videogame he played.
“Pong … That should give you a sense of my age. I loved that game.”
Other similarly in-depth questions ranged through the gamut of presidential politics such as spousal remote control rights and what’s currently on his iPod.
Don’t ask.
When the same pop-culture questions were put to the presumptive republican presidential nominee John McCain there was no mention of videogames whatsoever. Probably because the closest he as ever got to a Nintendo DS is a sock puppet.
In a *conference call with the two presidential candidates regarding their videogame play, Obama and McCain were unusually candid with their level of experience. Read more…
