Ubisoft Montreal scriptwriter, Kevin Shortt, made the following statement in an interview with Official PlayStation Magazine, revealing that that Far Cry 3 is currently in development, though he isn’t working on the latest sequel himself.

“No I’m not [working on Far Cry 3], but I know the team are and what I’ve seen looks pretty exciting.”

The next installment will be using an updated version of the Dunia Engine used in Far Cry 2, and will also take place in Africa as the previous sequel did as well. We’ll keep you posted as more news develops.
