Motorstorm 2 Teaser Trailer & First Details

Eariler than expected, we present to you the first trailer for Motorstorm 2. A refreshing change from the deserts, but full of the body pumping action of the original. We also have the first juicy details, including double the original game’s tracks.

That’s right. Even though Motorstorm had multidirectional tracks – with a possibility of three different routes, 8 tracks always felt a bit sparce. The sequel has 16 tracks, and this time you’re going to be driving on a remote Pacific Island alongside lush green foliage, mountainous peaks, flowing rivers, volcanic clouds, lava and scrumptious mud.

Monster trucks will make an appearance this time too, and it’s going to be tough fighting your way through the course against those beasts. 4 player split screen and 16 player online also make their way to the sequel.

Even though the trailer is CGI, it does offer a glimpse at the new gorgeous environments, and the promise of further destructability. Why not have a gander. Oh and before I forget, Motorstorm 2 will be released this Autumn.

MS2 Trailer at 6pm GMT: Capture Tease

The first trailer for Motorstorm 2 will be revealed to public eyes at 6pm GMT. Sadly reports tell us that it’s going to be CG, but tell us what you think about this first teaser image.

The first Motorstorm performed decently in comparison to its infamous CG unveiling, reaching much of the feel of the original trailer, if not perfectly the graphics. Racing games do not shy from CG trailers, with DiRT having its first unveiling in this manner.

It is rumoured that there was going to be ingame footage shown of Evolutions upcoming racer, but Sony want to hold it back just a tad longer. So all we’ll have is a trailer showing us new vehicles and environments. Motorstorm 2 will stray from the desert and enter into lush jungles and tropical islands.

Update: Motorstorm 2 Reveal Delayed

Here’s an update for those of you who read Roly Reyes report on an apparent Motorstorm 2 reveal. In the end Jeuxvideo had only had a premature ejaculation (an abrupt, exclamatory utterance) providing us with the deflating announcement that the reveal had been delayed.

In the end there was no French gift to be got, and Jeuxvideo regrettably told us that Sony had pushed back Motorstorm 2′s reveal by another week. It is our understanding that Jeuxvideo never had the new trailer exclusively, but that it would be simultaneously released on a number of websites.

Jeuxvideo were the only website to be struck by the excitement, giving us a countdown until 7pm on Wednesday 5th. They regretably decided to wait until that time to tell us that there would be no trailer for another week.

Whoever’s at fault, we expect that at the end of next week’s countdown we will be informed of another week delay, and continuously until Motorstorm 2′s release. It’s like a demented easter egg hunt on which you don’t get any bloody chocolate until the arrival of the second messiah.
