Nintendo Changes Name Of The 3DS Control Stick

Nintendo has just released a new Iwata Asks feature about the Nintendo 3DS. In this article Iwata and crew refer to the Nintendo 3DS’s control stick as the Circle Pad. Previously at E3 2010 Nintendo was calling this input device the Slide Pad. Personally I feel that calling it the Slide Pad sounds much cooler but is would seem that everyone better get used to the new name.

Sony Gives ‘Heroes on the Move’ a New Title

Apparently seeking clarity, Sony decides to rename their Playstation Move game formerly known as ‘Heroes on The Move’. From this point forward it will be known as PlayStation Move Heroes. Now everyone knows what system and what controller it’s being created for.

Nihilistic Software’s Robert Huebner, announced the title change at an event during the New York ComicCon. PlayStation Move Heroes will feature the first time meeting of video game characters Ratchet, Jak and Sly Cooper. Expect PlayStation Move Heroes in 2011.

UK Teen Changes Name to Captain Fantastic, More Powerful than a Family Guy Episode

Some of you may be familiar with the Family Guy episode pictured above. Oh, that Peter Griffin! What a wacky fellow! Well, it turns out that he’s not quite the wackiest. That title would go to Mr. George Garatt from Glastonbury, England. Hit the jump to find out why.

That is what Garratt, a 19-year-old music student, had his name legally changed to through the Legal Deed Poll Service. How did he come up with the name? Turns out he didn’t copy Family Guy, but his friends may have.

He said: “I decided on a superheroes theme and whenever my friends offered up suggestions to me, I added them.”

A spokesman from the website said that crazy name change requests barely faze them, due to the sheer number they get, but there was something special about this one.

I know there certainly is something special about this Captain Fantastic kid, and I don’t necessarily mean the good kind of special.
