Following last week’s E3 debut of the 3DS, Nintendo Co. Ltd President Satoru Iwata conducted an Investor Relations Q&A session which brings to light some further thoughts and ideas behind not only the 3DS and development for it, but the prospect of 3D in other Nintendo products as well.

Nintendo have already announced that Ocarina of Time will be coming to the 3DS, but a handful of NES and SNES classics including Yoshi’s Island have also been revealed to be coming to the system.

Capcom’s Ace Attorney series has long made a home for itself on Nintendo’s family of portable platforms, beginning with the Game Boy Advance (in Japan, anyway) and followed with enhanced re-releases of those titles on the DS before moving on to two new installments, built from the ground up to take advantage of the handheld’s features.

Nintendo had quite a showing for themselves at E3. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Metroid: Other M, GoldenEye, and Donkey Kong Country Returns were on display, among others. But the entree of Nintendo’s seven-course E3 feast would have to be the Nintendo 3DS and its herald, Kid Icarus: Uprising.

Hudson Soft announced today that they will be bringing three of their most popular franchises to the Nintendo 3DS at launch. Bomberman, DECA Sports and Kororinpa will be coming to Nintendo’s new handheld console when it launches.

Some pictures have surfaced of the new 3DS cartridge and the slots they will slot into.

Hardware firm Digital Media Professional have revealed today that they will be providing the graphics processing unit for Nintendo’s 3DS.

Kaz Hirai, the current Group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment, has bashed the Nintendo 3DS and it’s glasses-free 3D technology.
