I mean it’s Halo Freakin’ Reach…can’t we all just get along?

The kid wears pink socks, loves to say “Fag” and his voice has that pleasant ‘nails on a chalkboard’ tenor – definitely the type of gamer that gives the rest of us a bad name. Police brutality? Nope, in fact I think they might have been a little too nice.

He’s drunk and a Ginger, which makes him guilty in my book.

Super Mario Branded Drugs Confiscated By Police In Finland

I don’t know much about the world of drugs, in fact I pride myself in knowing as little as possible. However, what I do know about Nintendo, leads me to believe that the absolute last place on earth they would want to see their beloved and iconic Super Mario character tattooed, is on the face of thin sheet containing a powerful Scandinavian hallucinogen dubbed “Bromo-DragonFLY.”

The Super Mario flavored designer drug (shown on the left) was confiscated by Finnish Police in a bust estimated to be worth a whopping 3.5 million euros (roughly 4.2 million dollars US). That’s more golden coin than many of us gamers will ever see in our platforming life time.

So, am I the only one here thinking that this sort of thing totally redefines the term “designer drug?” What can we expect to see next? Goomba branded shrooms? Sonic the Hedgehog endorsed speed? Here I was thinking Joe Camel was bad…

Cops Draw Guns on Cosplayer

You know you did a good job on your Cosplay costume when gun-toting police officers show up in force. A little too good of a job.

For a zombie crawl happening in Seattle, Jay dressed up as an Umbrella commando from the Resident Evil franchise. He then proceeded to walk into a Metro Clothing store wearing his commando uniform with a knife, gas grenade, and a realistic-looking machine gun.

This understandably set off alarms and a dozen police cars pulled up outside and police climbed out, guns drawn. Fortunately, Jay was not mowed down in a hail of gunfire and was about to explain the situation rather quickly.

The lesson here is that if you make a cosplay costume so realistic that the police pull their guns on you, you’ll get on the internet!

Thieves Steal a Truckload of Games… Twice

In a story that I’m sure is incredibly embarrassing for the police forces of England, a semi carrying approximately $1 million in PlayStation 3 videogames (including GTA and Brothers in Arms) was stolen by a merry band of thieves. The truck and its cargo were then recovered by police, who failed to capture the men responsible, which led to the same merry band of thieves stealing the same truck full of games from the custody of the police themselves!

The story began in Northampton, UK, when a truck carrying 16,000 PS3 games was reported stolen. The bobbies were fast on the scene and tracked down the car the thieves used to transport the stolen goods. The games and the truck originally carrying them were then taken to a police depot where they could be examined for clues leading to the identities of the thieves. The police apparently didn’t keep a close enough eye on that truck…

The looters returned for their ill-gotten merchandise within hours and re-stole both the truck and the pallets of PS3 games right out of the police depot. The truck itself was found yesterday, but the modern pirates seemed to have made off with a plentiful booty. A police spokesman had the following to say:

“We are pursuing a number of lines of enquiry, including eBay transactions where a number of the games have been potentially identified as being advertised for sale. Arrests have already been made in respect of this.”

Yes, I’m sure the people clever enough to steal directly from the police are stupid enough to get caught selling stuff on eBay. Nice try, though. If these thieves were going to use eBay to unload their goods, why not just send empty boxes to people and not have to steal the games in the first place? What would be great is if the thieves did sell the games on eBay and then went to the winning bidders’ houses and re-stole the games back a third time.

Pedophile Uses World of WarCraft to Meet Girls

An Australian man was arrested recently after he convinced a 15-year-old girl he met while playing World of WarCraft to run away from home to be with him. He even paid for the trip. How sweet.

The 31-year-old Anthony Taylor formed a relationship with the less-than-half-his-age girl, which eventually led to sexual messages and phone calls. The girl’s father found out about the relationship and threatened to kill Anthony, so Anthony did what any self-respecting pedophile would do — he sent her a plane ticket and some money to cover the cab fare.

Obviously, the girl’s father doesn’t let her go, so Anthony is met at the airport by police instead. They question him about the girl, at which time he admits he “thought the age could be a problem.” Really, you think?

Anthony is then brought before a judge, where we find out some interesting facts about his raiding past. Turns out he met his current real-life girlfriend online, though thankfully she’s 27, and he has fathered a child with yet another girl who happens to be under the age of 16.

Anthony pleads guilty to “child stealing” and is sentenced to, and I shit you not, a “seven-month non-custodial intensive corrections order”. I don’t know what that means, but it certainly doesn’t sound like enough.

With rulings such as this, it seems to me that Australia is now the place for lovers… of underage teens at least. Virginia will be confiscating your wallabies since you stole their motto, and hopefully some of that old-fashioned redneck justice makes it down under as well.

Robbers Take A Wii, Claim It Wasn’t What They Were After (Yeah, Right)

It’s a cat burglar, get it?

Two women were held at gunpoint in their home in Kansas City, MO, after robbers kicked their door in. The thieves were apparently looking for cash and drugs, but after realizing they had just broken into the wrong house, they ran off with a Wii instead.

The men claimed to be police officers while they were smashing in the door, but once inside, Ashley Robinson and her cousin could tell these men were just burglars.

I was trying to figure out why the police was kicking in my door. They were looking for drugs and money and said, ‘Aw, we got the wrong house.’

The men scrambled to make their break-in worthwhile, so they took the best thing they could find: a Nintendo Wii. They were probably after the Wii the whole time and only pretended to be looking for drugs and cash to seem more “street”. I know the Wii is still hard to find, but seriously…

The police are still looking for the Wii-nappers. Maybe if Nintendo would, you know, make more Wii’s, people wouldn’t be so compelled to steal them.

The robbers also stole a laptop, which completely verifies them as total nerds.
