Prototype Delayed Until 2009

Looking forward to shape-shifting? Grinding someone’s face into the sidewalk as you surf their body? Spearing poor individuals with spikes? Well, tough luck– Sierra Entertainment has announced that Prototype will slip its 2008 release date and launch in 2009 instead.

Prototype Preview

I can imagine being a little disconcerted, waking up with creepy super powers that you’re not quite sure how you got. I suppose I can also imagine being a little pissed, which is how the main character Alex Mercer feels about the whole thing.
Since our last look at Prototype during this year’s Game Developer’s Conference, the co-op mode has sadly been cut, but hopefully it just means the game will be that much more polished when it ships later this year. Jump the cut to hear about features you will get to see… Read more…

Prototype: He Won’t Be Your Hero

Alex Mercer is the new Anti-Hero, in Radical Entertainment’s new Xbox 360 title “Prototype.” The game begins as Alex awakes on a New York street with a major case of amnesia. If that wasn’t problem enough a virus has broken out, and weird animal-like mutants terrorize the streets. Soon you find out that Alex is not a normal New Yorker, as he tears through the city, ripping apart enemies, and “devouring” innocent civilians to fuel his new destructive powers. Read more…
