It’s confirmed, folks. Naughty Dog is developing the PS3-exclusive, Dead Island, starring Ellen Page.

The game looks great, but I’m going to have to kick back and sigh. Do we need another post-apocalyptic, zombie-esque game? Probably not. But hey, at least this time around I know this game will be done right. Ya know, Naughty Dog.

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – January 4, 2011 – Electronic Arts Inc., (NASDAQ: ERTS) announced today a collaboration with Augusta National Golf Club and the Masters Tournament to feature one of the most revered tournaments in golf – the Masters – in Tiger Woods PGA TOUR® 12: The Masters®. For the first time in franchisehistory, players will be able to step onto the hallowed grounds of Augusta National, experience the rich history and tradition of the Masters Tournament and begin their own journey to capture the most sought-after prize in professional golf – the Green Jacket.

The Masters editionwill go on sale in North America on March 29 and worldwide on April 1, available on the Wii™, Xbox 360® and PlayStation®3 consoles, with support of the PlayStation® Move controller. Mortal Kombat – Extended Kratos Trailer, Kollector’s Edition Announced

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today released a special extended trailer for Mortal Kombat, featuring more Kratos. Kratos will only be available for the PS3 edition (sorry Xbox only gamers).

Launching in April 2011 both a Standard Edition and Kollector’s Edition of Mortal Kombat will be available.

No details on what will be included in this Kollector’s edition (yes, in the press release they spelled it with a K).

PS3 Mortal Kombat Will Have Kratos With Ass Kicking Fatalities

PlayStation 3 owners who buy the next Mortal Kombat are in for a treat as the God of War himself joins the fight with his own fatalities.

Thanks to the January issue of the Official Playstation Magazine, we’ve learned Kratos will be a fully featured character with Kombat moves, fatalities and his very own themed kombat arena. Unfortunately, we’ve also learned he won’t be playable in story mode. But then again, when did Kratos even need a story besides killing everyone/thing in his path.

Outworlders and Earth fighters beware.

David Jaffe Confirms Axel’s Twisted Metal Return

If you’re like me, Axel was one of your favorite Twisted Metal characters. Anyone who could stand there shirtless between two giant tires and still take on psychopaths like Sweet Tooth deserves to be placed in the company of Chuck Norris. Thankfully, David Jaffe recognizes this and announced via Twitter that Axel will return in the upcoming PS3 version of Twisted metal:

For those asking about Axel in TMPS3. So yes he’s in and he has 2 attacks: he rolls up into a ball and for a limited time u can crush the hell out of people. How many crushes can u get b4 timer runs out?Secondary special is a charge up shockwave that does little damage but knocks enemies hella far back. Great for clearing groups off rooftops or ledges and for clearing some space for ur teammate in NUKE while he’s trying to launch a missile. If we can get it working across the net (it’s a fast attack) players should be able to jump the shockwave 2 defend against it.

He’s back and will be joining the ranks of Sweet Tooth, Dollface, Mr. Grimm and The Preacher. Can’t wait to find out who’s next.

Rumoured New PS3 Exclusive: Savage Moon

If you’re a European detective, you might have discovered that the German software ratings board (USK) is listing every game to appear at the upcoming Leipzig Games Convention. At least, most of them. This can result in some lovely new game titles, possibly spoiling certain publisher’s announcements.

The Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle (USK) software ratings board have a listing on their website for a Sony game titled Savage Moon, which is described to be a Military Strategy game and is rated 12. Naturally, since Sony is the publisher, it’s exclusive to the PlayStation 3.
