Preview: Resident Evil 5
by Sam Naylor on November 5, 2008

It might come as a surprise that Resident Evil 5 was playable at the Eurogamer Expo, as it certainly was for me when I saw it. There were only 3 screens playing it, one 360 and two PS3 (I played the PS3 version)- not much when you consider how anticipated the game is. Since the game is expected to be released in March of 2009, it was certainly a pleasant surprise to be able to play the game months before the release date. Hit the jump for my thoughts.

Capcom Launches Resident Evil 5 Website: Flash Haters Beware, Zombie Lovers Rejoice
by Sam Naylor on October 22, 2008

Capcom have recently launched a brand new website in promotion of their upcoming horror shooter Resident Evil 5. Those of you who love to complain about flash-based websites should probably stay away, but the rest of us can feel free to enjoy the awesomeness.
It’s one of the better flash sites out there, with a lot of pretty effects and (surprisingly) a decent amount of stuff to play around with. Yeah, it’s a marketing website, but who cares- there are shambling zombies! Read more…
RE5 Controls Overhauled: Strafe Your Heart Out
by Wade Larson on October 6, 2008

“Thank you - for blessing me with new controls and strafing feet.”
Where Leon Kennedy in Resident Evil 4 could do little more than shoot flying implements of rusty death out of the sky (which would really require way more skill than dodging), Chris Redfield will have an advantage thanks to Capcom’s announcement of an overhaul to the controls for RE5.
According to the most recent Australian Official PS3 Magazine, RE5 will feature a control style similar to Gears of War, enabling strafing and rolling. Read more…
Hands-On Preview: Resident Evil 5
by Andrew Podolsky on July 19, 2008

The good news about Resident Evil 5 is the same as the bad news: It plays very, very similarly to Resident Evil 4. The stage we played at E3 was just like the Ganado Village at the start of RE4, only with a greater variety of zombies, ultra-sharp environments and lighting, and a few gameplay tweaks like instantaneous weapon changes. Capcom Announces E3 2008 Lineup - Teases Fans With Slim Chance Of Getting In
by Chad Lakkis on July 8, 2008

The official Capcom blog got an update today in the form of a fairly detailed list outlining the company’s E3 lineup. Outside of the obvious jaw droppers in RE5 and Mega Man9, I’m looking forward to getting my hands on the next gen remake of Bionic Commando.
Capcom finished off the post by teasing its “Go to E3 with Capcom” contest, insisting that fans come out and see them at the show if they “have the chance” — too cruel.
While better than nothing, the odds of being granted access are stacked against you. Ripten will be at this years E3, so in the event you don’t get a golden ticket, feel free to check back with us for all of your coverage needs.
Have at the full Capcom lineup of games after the jump. Read more…
Resident Evil 5 Exclusive Time Frame? No Way
by Jon Christensen on June 18, 2008

If you haven’t heard by now, rumors are starting to fly around concerning Resident Evil 5 and an announcement at E3. The biggest (likely nothing more than the result of Xbox Fanboys) is that RE 5 will have some sort of exclusive time frame for the Xbox 360. Meaning PS3 owners will have to wait months if not years.
Sounds 100% bogus to me. Capcom did put on paper that there will be a “huge” announcement regarding their beloved Resident Evil Franchise, however if there was some sort of time frame, what does Capcom or Microsoft earn? Read more…

Forget Racism, Capcom’s Resident Evil Franchise Is Biased Against Dead People
by Chad Lakkis on August 2, 2007

Forget about the accusations of racism being made against Capcom’s Resident Evil 5, at least the offended living black people can defend themselves. What about the countless dead people that have been made a mockery of in every itteration of the game thus far? Read more…
Extended Resident Evil 5 Trailer Hits - But Does It Answer The Questions We’re Dying To Know?
by Andrew Podolsky on July 26, 2007

Would any of you kind villagers know the way to the American embassy?
The extended, 3 minute long trailer for Resident Evil 5 can now be found on Xbox Marketplace, and watching it again and again must be a thrill for fans. There’s a ton of new footage that we can assume to be gameplay, due to the over-the-shoulder perspective and moves that seem to be a natural extension of what players could do in RE4. Read more…
Video Game Exclusivity - Giveth Today, Taketh Tomorrow…
by Chad Lakkis on May 31, 2007

So maybe Sony WILL end up losing the exclusive rights to Metal Gear 4 to Microsoft and the Xbox 360, but that may pale in comparison to what some Japanese outlets are reporting will be the fate of Konami’s Silent Hill 5 and even more surprisingly, Capcom’s Resident Evil 5. Read more…
