Why not? It seems the best way to promote your game today is to dress up Media Molecule’s lead character as that of your own. If you’re a fan of the Capcom fighting series, you will apparently be able to pick up the character costumes shown above individually and as a package deal. No word on price or release date just yet. G4TV’s X-Play has interviewed Yoshi Ono, Street Fighter IV’s producer (to be seen on October 22nd’s episode of the show), and reports that the release window for the console versions of SF4 will be “this winter”. From the man himself:

We’re trying to get it to you as soon as possible. Before the Japanese have a really long period of time to get really good at it first and totally kick your butt online…We don’t want to start rumors that it’s this year, but definitely this winter.

Street Fighter IV releases for PS3, XBox 360 and PC this winter, with no official arcade release as of yet. Anyone else looking forward to the new Street Fighter? I haven’t played one for a very long time, so I know I’ll be rusty. I just hope it doesn’t stray too far from the winning SF formula. Have your say in the comments.

A small press release just hit my inbox from Capcom announcing that the first Street Fighter 4 commercial (the home made ones you have been seeing on Youtube don’t count) will air this Saturday night at 10pm on CBS durring the EliteXC Saturday Night Fights.

The tenth floor of the St. Regis hotel offered up a Street Fighter IV journalist-only tournament, complete with an open bar and enough pizza to satisfy the great E-Honda.

Upon entering the hotel room you are greeted by a loop of Street Fighter II playing on a large wall mounted plasma, two linked arcade units, and plenty of journalists trying to cram in as much practice as they can before the tournament officially kicked off. Read more…

Capcom has announced that Street Fighter IV will be a playable demo at this years GDC. I must admit that this news is right up there with the end of the writers strike.
