Today’s Watercooler features a shaky-cam, bootleg, cell phone video of the trailer for the Star Trek remake, and it is surprisingly pretty good quality. The trailer itself, though, actually looks… kinda lame. I mean, there is a certain amount of geeky lameness inherent in Star Trek to start with, but this specific Star Trek seems like an Aaron Spelling kind of corny. Kirk looks like a douche and Spock is fucking Sylar from Heroes… which actually ain’t that bad, really.

Oh, and there’s also about a second’s worth of half-naked hotness that almost made me forget how awful the rest of it was. Almost.

Okay, now I know your first question was either “what the fuck was that?” or “Dan, are you crazy?” I admit that it looks like it could be alright, but that Kirk-douche is like when George Clooney was Batman, and I just can’t get past his scroteface. Sorry, but I just can’t.

What’s the best way to reveal things? Official confirmation? Pffft… How about a random dude just busting out his handy portable camera to take terrible-quality footage of yet-to-be-revealed Street Fighter IV characters at the Taito center in the Akihabara district of Tokyo.

There are tons of guys walking through as this random dude tapes, but you get the vague idea.

According to video uploader RyukyuTwo, as it stands now Balrog is as close to Mike Tyson as we’re ever going to get and still wouldn’t be able to kick if his life depended on it. Our slim and slender Sagat still sports the iconic eye patch and is reportedly the final boss — you’re reward for taking him out is a “Thanks for playing!” screen.

Make sure to watch them quick before Capcom pounces and gets them removed. Either way, these characters can’t be too far from an official announcement.
