Take-Two have announced that Bioshock 2 will be released on November the third for Northern Americans, and on October the thirtieth for Europeans, on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. This of course means that the spoilers will hit the web a good four days before people from the US will be able to play the game. I suggest you stay away from the internet during those four days, especially if you don’t want to know that Atlas is f- actually, you can come to Ripten. We won’t spoil it. We promise.

Gamespot have scored an exclusive Bioshock 2 feature and interview, which includes a lot of info on the upcoming game. You can see the video interview after the jump, and read all about the game over at Gamespot. Some interesting details have come up, including some insights into the way the game was conceived and designed, as well as some game info that I won’t list for fear of spoilers.

As a game which seems like it will be best enjoyed without knowing the whole plot, my suggestion is that if you want a fresh game experience (especially the story), ignore all this incoming information. I will say that Bioshock 2, from what we’ve seen so far, is looking like it will be a great game. Perhaps the fact that there’s not much new gameplay wise might put some off, but they’re not fixing what ain’t broke, I reckon.

ScrewAttck’s Hard News has gotten its hands on the newest issue of Game Informer, and has spilled all of the beans for everyone. The huge list of stuff is after the jump. Highlights include that there are loads of new weapons, Da Vinci is in the game, and there are sixteen unique mission types. It’s an impressive list, and as long as the game can take the good bits from the original along with these improved ones, it’s shaping up nicely at this point.

- You’ll have a ton of new weapons to choose from including an axe, a hammer, a mace, a spear, 2 different sword types, a spear axe, and 2 smaller blades
- You CAN swim
- Da Vincis workshop is in the game
- Locations include Saint Marks Basilica, The Grand Canal, The Little Canal, and the Rialto bridge.
- The game opens in 1476, Altair is from 1191
- So you do indeed play as a new ancestor of Altair / Desmond
-You will see the countryside of Tuscany
- The “Auditore” family is mentioned
- The main characters name is Ezio Auditore de Firenze
- He is a nobleman of Florence
- Big characters are in the game including Machiavelli, Caterina Sofrza, and Lorenzo de Medici
- YOU DO INDEED GLIDE on Da Vincis flying machine.
- Game will feature a new notoriety system that governs how enemy soldiers and people will treat you.
- You can disarm enemies and use their own weapons against them this time.
- Each weapon has a special move.
- 16 unique mission types.
- No more ease dropping or pick pocketing missions.
- If you get beat up to much you will need to see a street side doctor to regain full strength.
- Hidden objects (like flags in the first one) are there to uncover but this time if you track them down you will get in-game bonuses that make it worth your time.
- Items include, flags, statues, and gold coins and more that isnt mentioned.
- New enemy types with unique attitudes and weaknesses are present in the game. Archers are mentioned, as well as elite enemies, dagger wielders, “Brutish” armored troops with heavy armor and 2 handed swords and axes, and an intelligent halberd enemy will probe hiding places with their weapons if they think you’re near by.
- While hiding in a hay bail you can assassinate people this time, but it may expose your position.
- You can still climb towers and ride horses
- The Lorendo de Medici assassination attempt is in the game.
- There is now a night and day sequence in the game.
- 240 people are working on this title.

I clicked on a pending article with the title “CNN: Microsoft Xbox had a 95% Failure Rate” because it sounded interesting. Much to my displeasure, once I got to the article page, I was met with a paragraph outlining what I assume is the ending of Gears of War 2.

My second run-in was when I spotted an article in the “incoming news” section. This asshole was bolder than the first, putting spoilers in the actual title. He also seemed to be smarter, as he had worded it in an odd way, I assume to get around some sort of keyword blocker.

I was talking to our editor-in-chief Chad Lakkis about the ordeal. And by talking, I mean that I was yelling at him because the internet has pissed me off. He brought up a good point and one that ultimately depresses me. N4G has a pretty rigorous process that one must go through to become able to submit news. That means that these people put in the time and effort to reach this status, just to post this bullshit.

Chad also brought up another great point. Remember this whole MetaCritic user ratings debacle that happened over Little Big Planet and Gears 2? In response to the incident, MetaCritic is planning to institute an approval process for fans that want to rank games. Well, that obviously isn’t stopping the bullshit on N4G, so how much is it going to do for MetaCritic?

Both spoiler stories that I encountered have since been deleted off of the site, but you can be sure that more will pop up, so be careful.

UPDATE: People have been getting PMs on N4G containing spoilers as well, so be cautious when opening anonymous PMs. People have also been leaving spoilers in the comments section of the N4G post regarding this story, as was expected, so I wouldn’t read that either.

Not sure I completely understand the marketing angle being taken by LucasArts, but who am I to judge their uberness. This is the second trailer to reveal a few of the games plot twists — the first being right here.

The primary difference between the first video and this video, is that the first simply discusses a few of the games details, while this video is a 2 minute montage of actual in-game moments that should not be watched by anyone uninterested in seeing how the story possibly unfolds.

I say “possibly” because, as our own Jonathan Zungre reported to you from GDC via Ripten TV several months ago, LucasArts has mentioned that you will have the ability to make choices within the game that deccide the path you travel. He added that while you start the game off on the Dark Side — that may not neccissarily be where you end up.

So to recap, the trailer looks really nice, but you definity should not watch it unless you really like spoilers.
