Broke Trek: Video from the Past Says Hello

The thing about Internet memes is that they sometimes come back. For those that don’t know what I’m talking about, the whole obsession with Chuck Norris is a meme, something stupid within pop culture that usually became a part of pop culture because it’s stupid.
This video is one of those things. Brokeback Mountain was released how many years ago? Combine the explicit gayness from that movie with the subtle gayness of the original Star Trek series and you get a humorous trailer for Broke Trek.
The video is at least a year old, but it is once again making its way around the geekosphere for unknown reasons — most likely it’s because people like me watch it and repost it. I’m contributing to the fall of civilization, but it’s a funny video so who cares. Read more…
Nintendo Is Doing Their Best Star Trek Impersonation…

That’s right, the creators of Super Mario are looking to “boldly go” where no Nintendo console has gone before, and based on the facts … we don’t blame them.
In an Interview with Bloomberg News George Harrison, marketing chief at Nintendo of America said they plan on having the Wii sell 35 million units by 2012. If these numbers were true Nintendo would be only a few million units shy of breaking Sony’s record breaking mark of 38.5 million Playstation 2’s sold worldwide.

If Nintendo does reach these goals it all but assures they will emerge victorious in the next generation console war. Right now the Wii has the momentum going for it. Since its releases in America on November 21, 2007, Nintendo has sold more then 2.5 million units while the Xbox 360 and PS3 have lag behind … Sony only selling a dismal 1.3 units!
Can Nintendo truly do it? Right now it’s hard for anyone to answer, even them, but how can you doubt them? Numbers don’t lie. Read more…
