The US PlayStation Vita Store is Now Live

The PlayStation Vita may not be available in North America yet, but the online Vita Store is available now. Don’t expect much as far as content at this point, but you can find a few games, demos and videos.

If you are fortunate enough to have imported a Vita from Japan, now is great time to check the store out.

Super Meat Boy Merch Back In Stock; Already Almost Sold Out

The demand is high for Super Meat Boy merchandise. If you are one of these people, you are in luck … Maybe.

Team Meat’s online store has been restocked with t-shirts, plushies, stress balls, comics and stickers. If you have any interest, act quick. As I type this, there are dwindling amounts of Bandage Girl plushies and Dr. Fetus is already sold out!

After just finishing the I Wanna Be The Guy levels in Super Meat Boy, I definitely need a stress ball.

The plushies are created by Danielleorama and come with a sticker and a “very limited wooden SMB toy tag.” You can find Daniellorama in Super Meat Boy in the Hospital Chapter.

Super Stardust HD Going Online with Clan Support?

This is strange. A member of the gaming forum Neogaf has spotted an Online Expansion for the Playstation Network game Super Stardust HD, costing £2.49. It includes some interesting and potentially exciting additions.

So this Multiplayer/Community Expansion is on the store but says “Coming Soon”. Thus, it isn’t in the weekly PSN update list and is not yet usable. There is, however, a list of the expansion’s features:

There will be new game modes, split-screen cooperative, split-screen versus, an editor for the battling ships, remastered music and sound effects, enhanced visual effects, a music attack mode and clan support.

So there we go, exciting stuff. There has always been online leader-boards for Super Stardust HD, but clan support sounds – interesting. A Super Stardust Clan? Hard to get your head around that one, but it sounds cunning.

Oh and just a little warning – this add-on is purchasable now, but it’s an empty purchase, so do not buy it or you shall be out of pocket. Quite a few people have fallen for this “trap”, since the “Coming Soon” is only in the picture, which doesn’t load immediately. Some strange mistake by Sony there. It also doesn’t seem to be viewable by everybody.

Note the Need For Speed add-on file sizes – only 100KB. They are already in the game, but EA is giving you the opportunity to buy them instead of earning them through completing the Career mode for those of you who are lazy. Strange. You’re just buying very expensive cheat codes. Nice one E.A.

Burnout Paradise Demo Comes Next Week

Looking at the official website for Burnout Paradise, to hit the Playstation 3 and Xbox360 early next year, we can spy some exciting news. We knew a demo was coming, but it’s nice to see it coming so early.

On Criterion’s official website there is a newly revealed “Countdown to Demo Day” which has 8 days remaining. This would place the demo on Thursday Decemeber 13th. Thursday – a typical Playstation Store update day, and since Burnout Paradise has the PS3 as it’s lead platform it should be coming there first.

Whether the demo will also be on Xbox LIVE is a question I can’t answer. It depends on how vigorous talks between Criterion, Sony and Microsoft have been. Bring on the crashing!

Haze Demo Coming to EU PSN 11/15?

We have reason to believe that there will be another jungle demo for download on the Playstation Store this week. Joining Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune should be a demo of the First-Person-Shooter, Haze.

Haze, is that little shooter from Free Radical, those crazy Brits who made Time Splitters. Based in Nottingham might I add, where both Robin Hood and I have resided in the past. Release dates for Haze are shaky, but signs point to it releasing Decemeber 14th on the Playstation 3. Whether it will release next year on PC’s and the Xbox360 is anyones guess, because they’ve been flip-flopping over this for months like a couple of well…flip-flops.

Playstation owners should be injecting themselves with Nectar tomorrow, since the Official Spanish Playstation site stated last week that the Haze demo will come out on November 16th. Hopefully nothing has changed, except that it’s coming on update Thursday (the 15th), because rumor has it that the demo will take place in a jungle level, with four player co-op enabled. We hope this co-op will be online, but it won’t be surprising if Free Radical (and ultimately the publishers, Ubisoft) hold this back from us until the games full release in Decemeber.

Note, this news was only listed on the Spanish website, meaning that maybe for once, Europe will be getting a demo before their American brothers. But don’t fear, the demo should be region free (unlike the original Uncharted demo), so anybody around the world will be able to Nectar themselves up.
