This one’s for the film fans out there. This might be only a teaser but it tells you absolutely everything you need to know about something that will likely be pretty big news.

There’s going to be more info about this during the Superbowl. The only American sports event that people in the UK actually might watch- but we don’t have any adverts. You’ll have to see what the trailer is like for yourselves, then.

Enjoy Seventeen Minutes of Hitman: Absolution Gameplay

This morning we teased you, but now you shall be teased no more!!

Machinima have put up the full E3 2011 gameplay video of Hitman: Absolution.

The video shows an admittedly well-rehearsed section of the Library, crossing into the adjacent building and out into the safety of the city. It looks very unlike previous Hitman games from this footage, instead seeming more like Batman (detective vision included) or Splinter Cell.

Having said that, I always find Hitman games too hard anyway, even if I like the concept. This looks like it could be a brilliant little cinematic experience, as opposed to the open and free style the series has enjoyed so far. I wonder if perhaps this will be a good game, but under the wrong title. Time will tell, though, since this is only a small section of gameplay.

This is the first time that this Hitman Absolution gameplay has been seen by anyone other than the press back at E3. I’ve seen the full demo, and it’s rather awesome.

Upcoming Battlefield 3 TV Spot’s Got “99 Problems But a Bitch Ain’t One”

DICE has released a new teaser trailer for an upcoming television advertisement for Battlefield 3 which features gameplay to Jay-Z’s song “99 Problems”. The advertisement is scheduled to debut on September 26th.

Gearbox Software and 2K Games have just released the first trailer for Borderlands 2. It’s only a teaser, but it’s good enough to already get you hype for the game.

Borderlands 2 is set to release sometime in 2012. There ain’t no rest for the wicked… or Gearbox Software.

Dragon Commander Announced, First Trailer and Screens Show Dragons With Jetpacks?!

Larian Studios, best known for its role-playing game Divinity II: Dragon Knight Saga has announced its next big project: DRAGON COMMANDER. Which will be headed to PC and console platforms, and is currently scheduled for release in 2012.

DRAGON COMMANDER is a game of massive dragon combat, epic turn-based strategy and immersive role-playing set in the Divinity universe, bringing together the studio’s many years of experience in developing top-class RPGs with an original Art Nouveau/Steampunk world that is unlike anything Larian ever created before.

Taking on the role of the legendary first Dragon Knights, the most illustrious heroes in the history of the Divinity universe, players will take command of vast armies in their quest to conquer the empire. With the help of engineers and wizards, they will seek to give their armies both a technological and magical edge, and together with their friends and allies they’ll plan massive war campaigns. Once the enemy comes near, spectacular dragon combat awaits, with power, speed and tactical insight determining who will be victorious.

Might & Magic: Heroes VI GamesCom Trailer Teaser

Might & Magic: Heroes VI, setting itself apart from its predecessors through an inverted name, has a new teaser trailer. Black Hole Entertainment and Ubisoft plan on unveiling the entire trailer at GamesCom on August 17th. For now, we only get 47-seconds of a guy putting on his helmet and some epic music.

Yes, this is a trailer for a trailer. Enjoy.

E3 2011: Uncharted 3 Trailer Makes You Feel Happy In Strange Places

As those of you who’ve played either of the previous Uncharted games know, Australian developers Naughty Dog know how to mix tight gameplay, platforming, likable characters and humourous dialogue. Here at Ripten, we love the series with Patrick Steen in 2007 giving the first game a 9.4 and two years later Chad Lakkis gave the sequel a 9.5.

Boasting a new and improved co-op experience, a Naughty Dog unique take on Multiplayer and that epic singleplayer campaign, this is a game that should be high on the lists of all PS3 owners. Speaking of boasting, it wasn’t long ago that Naughty Dog compared Uncharted 3′s performance to a Formula 1 car. Check back with RipTen as the release date gets closer for all the news and information we can get our hands on. To keep your appetite whetted, check out this E3 teaser-trailer.

Uncharted 3 is due out on PS3 on November 1, 2011. The demo will hit PSN on June 28 for Playstation Plus subscribers as well as those with a beta-key pass (comes with new copies of inFAMOUS 2) and July 5 for everyone else.

Metro: Last Light Comes Out of The Dark (Trailer)

Metro: Last Light, the sequel to the cult hit Metro: 2033, was announced today in London to a group of journalists who flew in from all over Europe to get a first look at the game before the rest of the world.

Without spoiling anything for anyone who has yet to play the first game, it takes place after the first one. The first one had two different endings and Last Light will follow the darker ending (once again, I’m being vague on purpose) to help facilitate and perpetuate the tone from the first game. Basically it’s meant to be oppressive, dark, foreboding, and pessimistic.

The game takes place almost entirely underground due to the surface being uninhabitable. The apocalypse saw to that.

“The average metro dweller can expect to live a short, harsh life that will ultimately end with some unpleasant respiratory disease,” Beynon (head of THQ’s global communications) explains “An entire generation has been born and raised underground and they’ll likely not travel more than 500 yards from where they were born throughout their whole lives. The outside world, sky and sunshine are all alien concepts to them.”

The new title is meant to not only to continue the storyline, but to improve on the initial concepts presented in the first game. The intriguing aspect of using bullets as currency may be removed in an effort to allow players to get greater use of all their weapons.

“[Bullets as currency] was a concept taken from the book and that we really wanted to bring into the game world,” Beynon explains “We’ve added more weapons and we’re looking at how the player will go about acquiring guns and new equipment. We want to maintain that scarcity of equipment from the first game but not to the point that it impacts your opportunity to play with the new toys that we want you to experience.”

The true narrative of the game hasn’t really been revealed yet, but it has been confirmed that there will be a much greater focus on the Rangers and the role that they play in the Metro universe. Multiplayer will also be included in the package but we’ll have to wait to see what kind of multiplayer modes we might get.

Razer and EA Team Up On Battlefield 3… But For What!?

Razer has released a mysterious trailer today. It looks as if they are working on something for Battlefield 3!

Who knows what it is. A custom Keyboard? Mouse? Controller? Headset!? Who knows:

One thing is certain, it will be expensive and come in a shiny box. It will also likely help you own face.

Square Enix Announces “Heroes of Ruin” for 3DS

The 3Ds is starting to assemble a pretty strong line-up of titles, but one thing sorely lacking from the plethora of titles is a co-op adventure. This will most likely the most defining feature of Heroes of Ruin, as it will sport drop-in/drop-out gameplay, a feature not commonly supported on handheld adventures. This alone should be enough to make you sit up and take notice. Can you imagine a co-op hack and slash in the palm in your hand that your friends can join on the fly? That, my friends, is the stuff of legend.

The game is only recently announced (like today recently) and whether or not this will live up to that promise is still a long way away. The game is also slated to contain Streetpass functionality (a feature that should probably be in every game for 3DS) and Spotpass. Spotpass will allow players to connect to local wi-fi hotspots and download rare and limited edition items. Players will also be able to use Spotpass meet new gamers, trade and barter for items, and assemble a team.

Sounds promising, and even better, Heroes of Ruin will be on display at the Square Enix booth at E3 2011 and with any luck our “highly trained” journalistic ninjas will sniff it out and deliver a story. Right now, enjoy this teaser that doesn’t really show much, but maybe it’ll pique your interest.

Strange Sony Game Teaser Features Man Walking Through the Desert

If you’re completely confused by the headline, you certainly aren’t alone. Sony of Japan has released a new teaser for an unknown game. The teaser simply features a man slogging through the desert.

That’s about all we know for now. The only clue is the word “desert” in the address bar, but the desert theme may be the most obvious part of this whole teaser. It looks like it could be a build up to an announcement regarding Uncharted 3, but I wouldn’t hold my breath on that one. The date appears to be set for next Wednesday, so we’ll probably know what’s up then.

Try not to watch for too long, it gets pretty depressing. As always, you’ll know more when we do.

Futuremark Releases Mysterious Three Game Teaser Trailer

You’ve heard that name before… Futuremark… but where? Oh yeah, it was that mind-shatteringly cool zeroG-FPS Shattered Horizon, the DX10-Only game that thrust players into space. That was a hugely innovative and enjoyable title (though sadly short-lived) and… oh wait, maybe I know their name because they make that worldwide bench-marketing utility 3DMark? Well in fact they do both and we should all be excited when they announce a range of new games.

Futuremark says that there are three new titles in the pipeline and we can expect to see them on PC, XBLA and iOS. Take a look at this sweet new trailer.

That game at the end gets me every time. It’s like they’ve taken Shattered Horizon, added Descent and it leaves me feeling all Battlefield: Space. These guys have a proven track record for responding to and interacting with their player base so I hold great hope for anything coming out of their studios.

Our RipTen news-hounds will have their nose to the trail at the upcoming E3 conference, if we find out anything more we’ll bring it straight to you.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Teased By Official Playstation Mag?

A teaser in the back of the July issue of the Official Playstation Magazine has hinted at A new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare game.

“The biggest game in the world returns,” the teaser teases teasingly. From the font of the “3″ and basic common sense it’s clear this is a reference to Call of Duty’s Modern Warfare franchise.

Look forward to more info, perhaps an announcement from Activision, in the near future.

New Assassin’s Creed Revelations Teaser Shows More Altair

Ubisoft has just released another teaser for Assassin’s Creed Revelations, and it seems to further confirm Altair‘s return as well as give us some tiny new tidbits of information.

First, check out the teaser:

According to all the AC fanboys and girls out there, that is almost certainly Altair’s arm. However, we also get a glimpse of what appears to be a Phaistos Disc. According to Wikipedia (the most reliable source of information in the universe)

The Phaistos Disc (also spelled Phaistos Disk, Phaestos Disc) is a disk of fired clay from the Minoan palace of Phaistos on the Greek island of Crete, possibly dating to the middle or late Minoan Bronze Age (2nd millennium BC). It is about 15 cm (5.9 in) in diameter and covered on both sides with a spiral of stamped symbols. Its purpose and meaning, and even its original geographical place of manufacture, remain disputed, making it one of the most famous mysteries of archaeology. This unique object is now on display at the archaeological museum of Heraklion.

The disc was discovered in 1908 by the Italian archaeologist Luigi Pernier in the Minoan palace-site of Phaistos, and features 241 tokens, comprising 45 unique signs, which were apparently made by pressing pre-formed hieroglyphic “seals” into a disc of soft clay, in a clockwise sequence spiraling towards the disc’s center.

The Phaistos Disc captured the imagination of amateur and professional archeologists, and many attempts have been made to decipher the code behind the disc’s signs. While it is not clear that it is a script, most attempted decipherments assume that it is; most additionally assume a syllabary, others an alphabet or logography. Attempts at decipherment are generally thought to be unlikely to succeed unless more examples of the signs are found, as it is generally agreed that there is not enough context available for a meaningful analysis.

Although the Phaistos Disc is generally accepted as authentic by archaeologists, a few scholars have forwarded the opinion that the disc is a forgery or a hoax.

What does this mean for our protagonist and his adventures? Are we headed to Crete? Is there some sort of Da Vinci code deciphering that must be made of this disc? Is it all misdirection? Is this a sequel? A prequel? A side..quel?

All will be revealed soon…

Also, what is up with that fortress in the background? Looks like it needs to be infiltrated and someone inside needs to be Assassinated!
