The Desert Eagle and the Magnum have been staples of first-person shooters for a long time now, and I thought I’d create a tribute video to celebrate these glorious weapons. Actually, this serves more as a test of my own video creation skills than anything else, and as such I’d like to ask anyone who watches to provide feedback.

As you can tell, I’m no voice actor, and perhaps for future videos I might require someone else to do that for me, perhaps even a Ripten reader. Not content with full 1080p and a already fantastic art style, Katamari Tribute will feature four different visual filters to choose from. Your choices are cel-shading, colored pencil or wood grain effects, as well as the classic art style. They all look fantastic to me, and despite the fact that Keita Takahashi (the director of the original two and Noby Noby boy) isn’t working on the project, I’m still looking forward to the game.

Siliconera reports that Katamari will make a triumphant return to the Playstation later this year with Katamari Damacy Tribute. It will be the first in the series to feature full 1080p resolution, and is likely to feature a ‘best-of’ selection of levels and music from the series. The text from the magazine scan apparently mentions a “new visual presentation”, although this could just be referring to the HD shininess.

I just have two things to say- new Katamari is always something to look forward to, and also, Keep on rollin’.

Our friend Norm Schrager at meetinthelobby.com is reporting that HBO will feature a two day George Carlin remembrance highlighting some of the master comedian’s greatest performances.

The tribute will begin on Wednesday, June 25th with Carlin’s 1977 USC performance and wrap up on Thursday, June 26thwith the premier of his final HBO special “It’s Bad for Ya”.
