Why Nintendo “Won” E3 2010

My job, obviously, is to argue that Nintendo “won” E3 2010. Not only have Nintendo conquered the minds of the casual market, but they appear to have won back the minds of the hardcore market, too. How have they managed this? Well, they did so by putting on the best E3 press conference that I’ve seen in many years.

E310: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Nintendo has announced a new Zelda game that uses the Wii MotionPlus! And the nunchuck will control the shield. Nintendo is really showing a lot of gameplay, so we’re constantly updating. I’m assuming it’s similar to the sword beams that you shot in games like A Link to the Past when you were at full health.

Hero No More: Fan Made Zelda Film Taken Down Due to Nintendo Copyright (Nintendouchebaggery)

There are very few things in this world that infuriate me. Currently the list stands at America’s political system, advanced mathematics, Boxxy, and when companies use their copyright gestapo to protect their intellectual property in ways that make very little sense. I’m not some bizarre Anarcho-communist weirdo who thinks that everything a company creates should [...]

Gather round everyone, as Kotaku shares a very special “Kotaku Cut” Zelda themed wedding video, uniting one of their readers (Kyle) with his beautiful princess (Ashley). The music is really beautiful, but I’m wondering if he will continue the theme on the honeymoon. Strapped to the hotel room bed wearing nothing but a sword, Kyle [...]

Link Papercraft

It’s may be a whole site dedicated to Nintendo Papercraft, but it’s the above Link model that made me fully geek out. The site features tons of awesome projects, like the Blue Falcon, Banjo and Kazooie, and even an invisible Boo. It sounds crazy, but the end result is nothing short of fantastic. Have something [...]
